I am My own

Listen here
Dedicated to Free Women... behind wheels
My face is mine
It may have my  mother’s glow
But still it’s mine

My eyes are mine
They may be hard as a stone
My father’s eyes look like my own
But mine are mine.

My lips are mine
They may kiss my lover
They may travel over his skin
They may just wander forever
They may adore and they may sin,
Still they are mine.

My body’s mine
I may sell it if I so wish
I may just leave it to perish
I may bend it until it plies
Or breaks in sobs and mourning sighs .
This body’s mine.

My Honor’s mine
Was never yours
You slave of crime,
What do you know
About my dreams and dignity
You who condemns fertility
You who denies
And struts with lame virility?
My womb is mine .

I came from you Mother, Father
But I am my own Master
I learned  a lot from you Teacher
But I am My own Master
I’ll always ache for you Lover
But I am my own Master

So If I wish to drive a car
I'll drive a car
and if I wish to travel far
I'll travel far
and if I want to belly dance
I'll belly dance
and will engage in politics
but read romance
and if I wish to put on weight
I 'll put on weight
and I will leave sometimes early
and come back late
and I will write when I want to
and I will fight from time to time
you see the thing you never knew
that after all ...
           My mind is mine!

My lust is mine
So is my love
And God is mine
God is above
And I am his and his alone
Don’t you get it ?
     I AM MY OWN!
